Nightmare To Remember

This nightmare will stay,
doesn't matter if you scream or pray.
The images burned into your mind,
relief is something you won't find.

You can't stay awake all the time,
the intoxicating horror and sublime
of the nightmare will never leave your mind,
to this damned dream you will be confined.

This nightmare to remember,
burns in my mind like an ember.
Leaving you in agony,
lost within your own misery.

In this damn world your helpless,
no sanctuary, no bliss.
No angel to save you,
your sanity is through.

No new life will begin,
it will leave you weaker than you've ever been.
The images, the pain,
to try to forget would be vain.

Draining you, leaving you hopeless,
all your nights are restless.
